(HOUSTON, TEXAS) April 23, 2006 — Popular electronic/funk band, A>S>H>S hosted a stellar album release event on March 25th. The show attracted over 400 fans, filling their warehouse space to capacity and contributing to their notoriety in Houston’s underground house party scene.
The release is their first full-length, self-titled album, and was recorded at the legendary SugarHill Recording Studios. It was tracked and mixed in Studio A by SugarHill’s Senior Staff Engineer John Griffin. Edits and overdubs were done by A>S>H>S drummer/producer Jason Williams at his own home studio.
The album includes an eclectic mix of electronica with a funk/jazz psychedelic edge and has already received media attention including The Houston Chronicle.
“John (Griffin) was dead on his mixing and engineering skills which were invaluable in the making of this record.” explained drummer Jason Williams. “Making this album gave me an opportunity to add synth layers and programming we cant normally utilize live, due to time/sound restraints.”
The band plans to tour their new album in the future and hope to introduce a fresh “underground” sound to the Houston music scene.
