At Last, a Guide to Leaving a Dead End Job for a Future in Photography
Research is available that indicates that many people are unhappy in their chosen jobs in a surprising amount of varying vocations. This is partly due to wanting money quickly, an assumed financial inability to change careers or job, or pressured from some other entity to take anything just in case…
July 6, 2006 — Learning directly from the pioneers and the many successful people who carved out their own niche in various industries, it has been found repeatedly that too many people rush into jobs or careers due to attractive short to medium term income promises without any thought to medium to long term enjoyment and self development. These are often short lived employment positions as a result of not being a good fit or not living up to expectations. We have also learned this can also be a long road to discovery. So what is the answer for people either skilled in or keen on photgraphy and are blatantly unhappy in their current job?
This wouldn’t be the first time it was mentioned that finding a career or vocation that truly is of interest or one of enjoyment are the best to pursue. Indeed, this is supported by the very improvements in social behaviour, health and lifestyle that come with an enjoyable vocation. That doesn’t say that wealth should not be part of that statement, especially if that person is good at what they do. It would be fair to expect that someone who has a passion for their craft which I also their income is highly likely to do well in that field.
For those people who enjoy and are caught in a rut, a good alternative is to seek out ways and information that is highly specific to starting a photography business. This is especially important to those who have never been in business before because it can minimise mistakes and in some cases, grief. Many of the noted and successful professionals known today started their photography business part time. A great number of those professionals stayed employed in less pleasing employment while they built their businesses. Few jumped in and became wealthy professional photographers overnight.
