Stratford, NJ — Danielle Ackley-McPhail signs a new book deal with Mundania Press (www.mundania.com) a publisher based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her novel, Yesterday’s Dreams, an urban fantasy based on Celtic Mythology, is scheduled for release in August of 2006. In addition, Mundania also accepted the sequel, Tomorrow’s Memories for publication in May of 2007. This will be the first time the sequel appears in print.
“Yesterday’s Dreams is an urban fantasy based on Celtic Mythology,” Ms. Ackley-McPhail says when asked about the novel. “Being predominantly Irish myself, I was always interested in the culture, though I wasn’t really raised with it. The myths and legends are so rich and unique, but hardly anyone could tell you what they are. Not only do I incorporate the telling of the tales within the book, but I have selected certain elements and extrapolated beyond what has been passed down to make the framework of my novel.”
Mundania Press first started publishing by reprinting an out-of-print title from Piers Anthony, best-selling author of the Xanth series. Only three years old, the company now has a print list of 108 books in the fantasy, science fiction, mystery, historic, and romance genres, and their list continues to grow. They also print the works of bestsellers Robert Adams, well-known author of the Horseclan series, Louise Cooper, Don Callander, and Anne Logston.
Other projects Ms. Ackley-McPhail has recently completed are Children of Morpheus, an illustrated chapbook of poetry and short fiction, and No Longer Dreams, an anthology on which she is the senior editor. Both are published by Lite Circle Books, (www.litecircle.org). Currently she is working on a second anthology, Bad-Ass Faeries, as well as a military science fiction novel, Progenesis, with husband and fellow author, Mike McPhail, whose work also appears in No Longer Dreams.
