Call for Entries - First All India Online Video Festival, indiavidfest.com
Bidchaser, Inc. announces a call for entries of its online Video Festival competition – indiaVIDFEST.com. The video festival will run annually, with the first round of competition scheduled to launch on July 1st, 2006, and closing September 30, 2006. Starting April 1, 2006, The VIDFEST Team started accepting submissions from producers and creators of original digital media. A gala event will be scheduled at the close of each regional festival for an official awards ceremony.

Entry Processing for Media Producers
Each festival accepts entries in digital format. These entries can be submitted via post to the festival’s processing lab. Alternatively, participants with broadband internet connections may submit their entries electronically. The media is processed upon receipt and made available for public viewing and voting through the appropriate regional VIDFEST website (channel).
Public Vote
The criteria for the submissions are based on film categories as well as the length of the submission. Members of the public register to receive submissions in specific categories of interest, and can start receiving entries on a regular basis through a distributed peer-to-peer network. The registered member then casts a vote for the submission. The votes are tallied and the ranking of each submission is scored against its competition.
Gala Event
Upon the close of each regional competition, the winners in each category will be announced through gala events. These events will be broadcast live over internet protocol (IP), but will also be available through on-demand video technology.
Call for submissions
Bidchaser and the Indiavidfest.com project are now accepting submissions for the first IndiaVidFest competition. Entries must have been produced since January 1, 2004 and previously optioned. The media must be of Indian origin and within the following genres: children; action; comedy; drama; fiction; horror; non-fiction; romantic; thriller; science fiction; fantasy; music; and architectural. The submissions will also be further categorized by running time: under 5 minutes, 5-30 minutes, 30-60 minutes and over 60 minutes. Entry fees are based on the media’s length and posted on the site, http://www.indiavidfest.com.

About Yash Chavan
Yash Chavan comes to Bidchaser from a long and distinguished career spanning over twenty years in the digital publishing and animation production markets. Among his accomplishments, Mr. Chavan has been the Executive Producer of Indiainfobridge where he developed animated stories for the Discovery Channel as well as animation for the American Heroes and Heroines series.
Mr Chavan’s other past accomplishments includes setting up the Interactive Virtual Classroom Systems for the Higher College of Technology in Dubai, developed the Emirate Airlines Interactive Crew Training Classrooms. His experience spans all areas of production management including digital publishing, editing, streaming video development and the setup of postproduction studios. Mr. Chavan holds a B.A. in History and Political Science, and holds a law degree (LLB) from Bombay University. Mr. Chavan is also the recipient of a Post Graduate degree in broadcast journalism with a specialization in digital media acquisition.
