Laurel, MD — On the heels of her first featured author article in Ft. Myers Magazine (Nov/Dec 2005), along with numerous book signings in Southwest Florida, Villa Rica resident, Mary Cunningham, is scheduled to embark on the next segment of her regional author tour. West Georgia readers are guaranteed to enjoy the series of meet and greet events and children’s library workshops featuring Mary Cunningham. April 2, 2006 will mark the radio debut of the children’s book author on WDUN News/Talk 550’s The Critic’s Page with host, Bill Wilson and kick off the tour.
Imagine the fun of meeting your twelve-year-old grandmother! “Cynthia’s Attic: The Missing Locket” offers young readers an adventurous glimpse into the lives of Cynthia and August Lee “Gus” as they travel through time.
Cynthia had an attic. Not just an ordinary attic. Cynthia’s attic was magic.
Cynthia and I came into the world just three months apart. We grew up on the same quiet, sycamore-lined street, our friendship as close as our houses. Fifty years earlier, our grandmothers were best friends. However, we didn’t realize the extent of their friendship until after our experience in Cynthia’s attic. This is the story of one of our great adventures…the way I remember it.
“A fantastic time travel fantasy that middle school children will treasure. The escapades of Gus and Cynthia grip the audience…with humor and trepidation, but always with fun… Readers will appreciate time traveling with this dynamic duo…and continuing in the past on the high seas.” –MBR Bookwatch
“…I have to admit, I was hooked from the start. THE MISSING LOCKET is reminiscent of The Magic Tree House books, so I know the appeal of this series will draw readers in. The characters are enjoyable and the mystery is not easily solved, so young girls will find plenty of enjoyment with Cynthia and Gus…” - Tracy Farnsworth, RoundTable Reviews
Mary Cunningham is co-author of the humorous lifestyle book, Women Only Over Fifty, WOOF, and is published in the Gulf Coast Writers Anthology, Vol. VI. She is currently scheduling her spring and summer book signing, workshop, and speaking events.
