Major Labels Overseas Show Interest in Mikey and his Music…
Mikey has made the decision to take his music to the Philippines.
— Perhaps one of the biggest career decisions since the launching of his musical projects in New York City, Mikey has made the decision to take his music to the land of his native roots - Asia, and more specifically the Philippines.
“Many entities have been urging me to bring my career down to Asia and the Philippines for a long time already,” says Mikey, a Canadian-born Filipino. In 2003, Mikey’s rise to fame on the show Canadian Idol earned him the notoriety that caused many overseas to have a drawing towards Mikey and his music. He says, “Over the past two years, I’ve had many obligations here in North America that were keeping me from exploring such options as bringing my music to the Philippines, but now I feel inside that the time may be right for me to take that step. Only God knows what the future holds.”
When asked for any confirmed plans, he simply states that “things are in the works” but has mentioned some major names like Universal and Viva have shown interest in Mikey. Will Mikey’s next album be recorded in Asia?
Mikey says that his fans will have to wait for that answer and that either way he will continue to make his mark by singing for the world.
