Motown’s First Female Artist on the Soul Label - Frances Nero has been Elevated to Movie Producer
Saturday, June 17, 2006 is the Movie Premiere date for the Nero-Yisrael production of “Reject Island” at the Millenium Center - 15600 J.L. Hudson Drive Southfield, Mi.
Southfield, MI May 26, 2006 — Frances Nero, first female artist on Motown’s 1965 Soul Label has elevated to Movie Producer.
“Reject Island” is a community of half human/half birds with defects and abnormalities and this flock is totally out of control. They are banished from Peacock Island by Queen Paula Peacock. When Ollie Orangebird and Booster Rooster invite Paula to a special event on the island - all hell breaks loose.
This comedy is Frances’ first feature film. Ms. Nero has a cameo appearance and credits reveal she has also written the uplifting soundtrack. There is no straining to hear the clarity of her voice as she performs the songs. Clay McMurray, former Motown writer and producer states “Frances has a clever way of writing lyrics and her imagination is mind boggling.” It wasn’t until he engineered the recording session that he had any clue as to what the script was about.
Three seasoned voices from the Motown era were coordinated by Pat Lewis formerly of “Hot Buttered Soul,” Diane Davis also former member of “Hot Buttered Soul” together with Pree (MyTown Records) contributed to the youthful but professional backing vocals. Tee Turner of The Miracles performs “Booster’s Love Call”.
N. Jeremiah Yisrael directed the cast of unknown, talented, hilarious actors. Mr. Yisrael is CEO of Ocean Mirror Film Productions.
Tickets are $10.00 and may be purchased at The Millenium Center Box Office or contact Frances Nero at 248-557-1510
