New Children’s Book: A True Story From a Child’s Perspective
A true story of a chance meeting that changed the lives of a fox and a family!
Medina, OH — “FOX: Lost & Found” by Debrae Barensfeld, is a funny, heartwarming yet educational story told from the perspective of her son, Zach. Zach is a nine-year-old boy who feels lost since his parents divorce. Lost in a world of questions. But Zach discovers much more than just the answers he was looking for, when he and his family come across a wild silver fox. He learns that finding something you’re not looking for can make you realize what was almost lost.
‘“Fox: Lost & Found” was one of those stories that you tell over and over,” says Debrae. “Kit, the fox in the story, is so beautiful and unique, people were always asking us where he came from,” she adds. Silver foxes are extremely rare. The story behind the story is a one in a million chance.
Ms. Barensfeld admits it’s not a good idea to keep wild animals as pets. She hopes to teach kids the seriousness of respecting the lives of all animals. “It takes a lot of time, patience, love and respect just to care for pets like cats and dogs. Multiply that times 100 for a wild animal. Once you lose their trust it’s almost impossible to get it back. I’ve got a few scars to prove it,” says Debrae, “they’re kind of like tattoos. I have no regrets,” she adds with a big smile. “We love animals.”
“FOX: Lost & Found” is an 8.5 x 11 children’s book w/72 pages, targeting ages 5-12. Although most everyone will love the story, find the fox facts very informative and appreciate the wonderful illustrations by artist Polly Keener. A unique treasure priced at $12.95 plus S & H.
