“Rock Drums Volume II” will allow users of popular music production programs such as Acid, Fruity Loops, Sound Replacer, Aptrigga, Drum Rehab and others, as well as almost any sampler, hardware or software, access to the same drum samples previously available only to those using Drumagog.
Entire drum kits - Over 70 snare sets, over 80 tom sets, two dozen kick drum sets - even a full collection of cymbal sounds. All are multi-sampled to give engineers and producers nearly unlimited options when building raw drum tracks or resampling existing tracks.
Jay Walsh of Farview Recording developed “Rock Drums for Drumagog” after sampling several drum kits for use at his own studio in St. Charles, IL. With the growing popularity of the two collections, the need for compatibility with other programs and recording software seemed inevitable.
Flexibility was a key factor in the development of RDII - Drums are multi-sampled to avoid the “robotic” feel of other drum replacement collections. There are several levels of processing to give engineers as much freedom as possible. From completely raw hits, to mildly EQ’d and compressed sounds - even room sounds are part of each drum’s sample set. Several samples went through an additional phase of post production at MASSIVE Mastering (Schaumburg, IL) to provide “finished” drum sounds right out of the box.
Quality is another key factor. All of the drums on RDII were recorded using top-shelf recording gear - A collection of recording hardware from Amek, Langevin, Manley, Neve, Neumann, Sennheiser, Shure, Lavry, Soundcraft, Audio-Technica and others was utilized to give even the most humble recording setup drum sounds that would normally be available only in a well-equipped professional recording facility.
