On The Rox at The Roxy (LA)
Special guest Michael Lucid, from the acclaimed gender-bending sketch comedy duo Pretty Things, joins forces with The Fabulous Entourage for a twisted and raucous dance party at On The Rox, above The Roxy. Michael’s wig-a-licious performances have been called “Brilliant. Part Kids In The Hall, part Ab Fab.” (LA Weekly) Meanwhile, we’ve heard there are stripper poles at this venue, and we intend to make good use of them while we’re there (expect some hot burlesque action)! Stick around for the JacknDanielles Party afterwards. For more information visit: http://www.prettythingsss.com/ and http://www.theroxyonsunset.com/
* Tuesday, August 1st, 9pm, $15
The Independent (SF)

About The Fabulous Entourage -
The Fabulous Entourage have been described as a “quintet of youthful punk-popsters hellbent on bringing theatrics back to rock n’ roll!” (The New Yorker). Compared to Devo (by The New York Times), Scissor Sisters (by Paper Magazine), The B52’s (by LA Splash Magazine), and described as “Brilliantly Lowbrow” (by New York Magazine), this keyboard/bass/drum trio, joined by two Supremes-style female vocalists, has earned a cult following for their over-the-top live shows, including notable performances at the 2006 Whitney Biennial, Knitting Factory Mainstage, Joe’s Pub, Viper Room, Bowery Ballroom, and even a “floating concert” aboard a boat as it ferried around the Statue of Liberty. In addition to sharing the stage with a coterie of talented guest musicians, they frequently produce blowout concert events that incorporate various superstars of the downtown performance art scene in NYC. AM NewYork writes fondly, “their live show kicks ass!”
About Their “Entrancing” Debut Album -
Play Nice Now features 11 tracks of exuberant, irrepressible glam rock, infused with lush Motown-inspired vocal arrangements, throbbing beats, and equal doses of sunshine and melodrama. Famed producer Tim O’Heir (Radio 4, Hole, Stellastar, Sebadoh) adds his dynamic touch, and members of the bands Theo & The Skyscrapers, The Hazzards, and Jesus H. Christ make special guest appearances. The result is a brash and confident debut album overflowing with an insatiable desire to party. It can be purchased online through the band’s website.
