May 13, 2006 — ProDance is proud to announce that The Breast Cancer Research Foundation will be the Official Charity for ProDance 2006.
ProDance will not only donate $1.00 for every ProDance 2006 attendee but attendees and sponsors will have several ways to support the fight against breast cancer:
1. ProDance attendees can collect donations from friends, family, their franchise, etc., to add to the ProDance contribution.
2. ProDance attendees will be able to bid on items donated by a wide range of sponsors in the ProDance silent auction.
3. All ProDance attendees will participate in the first ProDance “Dance for The Cure event”.
The ProDance “Dance for The Cure” - Famed choreographer, John Peters, will teach two fantastic routines using pink props. Each ProDance team will then have the opportunity to take these routines back to their organizations and host ProDance “Dance for The Cure” events in conjunction with one of their sporting events, special appearances, and or youth camps.
“We envision dozens of teams holding ProDance “Dance for The Cure” events in their cities”, said Rosalyn Jones, CEO/Founder of ProDance. “The routines will be crowd-pleasing while spreading the message and increasing the total contribution to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation”.
About The Breast Cancer Research Foundation
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation was founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder as an independent, not-for-profit 501(c) (3) organization dedicated to funding innovative clinical and genetic research. The Foundation supports scientists at leading medical centers worldwide whose research is focused onachieving prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime. A minimum of 85 cents of each dollar donated to the Foundation goes directly to breast cancer research and awareness programs. In October 2005, $22 million was awarded to 110 researchers across the U.S. and in Canada, Europe, Latin America, and Israel. Money magazine named BCRF one of America’s eight top charities. The Foundation has received the highest rating from Charity Navigator, four stars, for four consecutive years, which means BCRF has outperformed most other charities in America in efficiently managing its finances.
